ENESEL Group based in Athens, Greece, presently operating a diverse fleet of 29 modern high specification tankers/containers and bulk carriers is currently looking for a highly motivated full-time Crew Operator to join our crewing team, reporting to the Crew Director.

All existing vessels are constructed to the highest international standards in first-class shipyards. The entire fleet is chartered to high profile charterers and operators mainly on time-charter basis.

The successful applicant is expected to have at least 1-3 years’ experience in a similar position. Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Crew Director on the selection and recruitment of seafarers, including the development and implementation of training plans, while continuously monitoring their effectiveness.
  • Coordinate long-term crew planning in cooperation with designated manning agents, ensuring optimal vessel manning at all times.
  • Oversee all administrative and logistical aspects related to the embarkation and disembarkation of seafarers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records and planning data within the company’s ERP system.
  • Liaise with the Accounts Department to provide regular reports related to crew salaries, employment contracts, MGAs, and other relevant matters.
  • Monitor the validity and authenticity of officers’ and crew members’ certificates, licenses, and other documentation.
  • Ensure that all onboard personnel are fully informed of and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Verify that all joining seafarers meet applicable statutory, national, and international (STCW), Flag State, and Owner requirements.
  • Prepare and issue Employment Contracts and extensions in accordance with applicable standards and agreements.
  • Ensure timely arrangements of visas, including U.S. visas where applicable, for all travelling seafarers.
  • Arrange flight bookings for crew joiners and off-signers in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new hires to ensure smooth onboarding and familiarization.
  • Assist in monitoring the department’s annual budget and performance targets.
  • Prepare and submit crew related KPIs and reports for Management Review, focusing on fleet performance and crew management efficiency.
  • Perform any additional duties as may be assigned by the Crew Director.

Additional qualifications/requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or educational diploma from a recognized university or institute.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Relevant professional work experience in the field of ship management, particularly marine HR and crewing operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, ERP systems, and other professional software.
