Senior Operator

Vantage Shipping is looking to hire a Senior Operator for the post-fixing department.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• minimum 8- 10 years of experience in the post fixtures/freight collections department of a shipping company with bulk carriers.
• bachelor’s degree ideally in Law or BSc/MSc in Maritime/Shipping Management. A relevant master’s degree will be highly acknowledged.
• strong ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize requirements to meet deadlines.
• excellent command of the English language and industry standard computerized ERP systems.   

Main Duties:

• responsible for overseeing all operational matters 24/7, including monitoring communications between charterers and owners.
• implementing charter party terms, preparing laytime calculations, handling bills of lading/LOI issues.
• preparing freight and hire debit notes and resolving charter party disputes at an entry level under the guidance of the operations manager.
• providing all necessary supporting material to Claims Department when a dispute cannot be settled amicably, or legal actions are required.
• collaborating closely with the accounting department to monitor outstanding receivables and credits.
• Prepare actual voyage results as well as voyage estimations.
• Familiar with the EUA’s trading and its implementation in the CP’s.
