Accountant

This position is within the accounting department of a ship brokerage services company that also supports a U.S. listed shipping company and involves full-cycle monitoring of vessel accounts and other accounting and reporting duties, as assigned. The role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate vessel voyage accounting records: including processing accounting entries, maintaining relevant analyses reports, preparing relevant accounting closing reconciliation reports.
• Manage and perform full cycle posting and review of third-party vessel manager accounts: process, monitor, and review the content and accuracy of vessel manager’s accounts, perform monthly/quarterly reviews and reconciliations.
• Maintain full cycle holding company accounts.
• Prepare of various accounting tasks reports as requested by Management.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of working experience in similar accounting position.
• Strong knowledge of Danaos accounting system.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word etc.).
• English proficiency.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills.
