Primary Aim

Anglo-Eastern Ship Management (Hellas) Ltd. is seeking a Technical Superintendent for the Athens Office, who will be reporting to the Ship Technical Manager, and will be responsible to monitor the technical condition of the assigned vessels and attend vessel needs in relation to technical requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To implement and monitor vessel systems maintenance in accordance with HSQEMS and company requirements
  • To attend vessel operational needs and propose improvements to HSQEMS, if needed
  • To participate in the investigation of technical problems, accidents and incidents and in investigating/documenting H&M failures
  • To participate in the selection and to monitor/evaluate performance of seagoing personnel in accordance with company procedures
  • To visit vessels, to evaluate their technical condition, the performance of seagoing personnel, the effectiveness of maintenance and the HSQEMS system. TSI should perform as a minimum a sailing attendance to all the vessels under his/her accountability within a year period
  • To monitor vessel Planned Maintenance System
  • To prepare repair specifications and work orders
  • To do cost control of running expenses and purchase orders for spares/consumables/provisions and supplies
  • To study and analyze maintenance and inspection records and engine logs
  • To attend dry dockings and important deck and engine repairs
  • To organize and follow up routine voyage maintenance works
  • To ensure machinery relevant to antipollution regulation is in good operational condition and that company instructions are followed
  • To monitor in consultation with the Fleet Performance Engineer the vessels' group KPIs related to performance and maintenance effectiveness
  • To follow-up the vessels' group classification matters
  • Review and ensure implementation and tracking of Original Equipment Manufacturer bulletin and company alerts
  • Review energy related procedures and targets. Review and update S.E.E.M.P. Identify performance gaps and improvement measures

What We Are Looking For

Formal education: University Degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering or in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: At least two (2) years of working experience as a Technical Superintendent in a tanker company

Other qualifications:

  • Ability and willingness to travel abroad
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Problem solving, decision making and leadership skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, meeting demanding deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and under pressure
  • Hard working with commitment to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Packages (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel)

Languages: Fluent English written and spoken; any language additional to native is an asset
