Large Shipping Company in southern suburbs managing a fleet of bulk carrier vessels has the following opening:

Crew Officer

Qualifications   

• College or University graduate in Nautical studies
• Relevant work experience in a Shipping Company
• Adequate knowledge of STCW and MLC conventions
• Excellent working knowledge of the English language and PC skills
• Knowledge of Danaos crewing software will be considered a plus

Objective

To assist the Crew Fleet Supervisor in relevant functions related to Crew Dept., including administrative support as necessary.

Responsibilities   

• Supports implementation regarding the ships’ manning and seagoing personnel training.
• Reviews the seafarers' qualifications, certification, etc. 
• Maintains Crew lists of ships current manning, monitors crew changes and follows up on the relevant arrangements.
• Maintains personal, medical, and training records and certification details of all seafarers
• Keeps all seafarers' files up-to-date.
• Maintains/Monitors documents and certificates of embarking crew and makes sure
• Supports with the crew travel arrangements and visa requirements with the Manning Agents and travel Agents.
• Makes flight and dispatch arrangements for Office personnel when attending ships and arranges their travel and visas
