We are currently seeking on behalf of our client a Senior Financial Accountant 

The client: 

A company that brings together experience across investment disciplines, from real estate to special situations and credit strategies, in order to deliver best-in-class, risk-adjusted returns for investors. The Company’s primary objective is to provide Investors with attractive risk-adjusted returns through growth capital, distressed and special situation equity and credit-related investment opportunities in Real Assets in Europe, principally Greece. 

The Senior Financial Accountant position reports to the Group Financial Controller. The appropriate candidate will join a team of professionals based in Greece and Cyprus and will be expected to build strong working relationships across the business. 

Key responsibilities 

The Senior Financial Accountant will be involved in investment and corporate accounting, tax compliance, management reporting, and budgeting. 

Investment / Corporate entity accounting 

  • Tax compliance including submission of VAT, withholding tax returns and other related filings on Taxisnet, to ensure adherence to Greek tax laws and regulations 
  • Perform bookkeeping and prepare financial statements in IFRS and Greek GAAP 
  • Cash management and bank reconciliations 
  • Maintain the fixed asset register including depreciation calculations 
  • Preparation of quarterly management reporting packs 
  • Coordination of and support with statutory audit and tax audit process 
  • Monitoring of bank and intercompany loans and respective loan calculations 

Accounts Payable and Receivable 

  • Invoice processing and billing 
  • Processing of payments and monitoring of receipts 
  • Regular payment run on the banking platform 
  • Reconciliation of balances with suppliers and tenants 

Requirements

Candidate profile 

  • Strong academics, with minimum 5 years’ experience 
  • Certified class A tax accountant  
  • Experience with IFRS and Greek GAAP and preparation of financial statements 
  • Experienced with ERP systems; proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is preferred 
  • Strong financial analytical skills 
  • Experience in the real estate industry will be considered an advantage 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure / to tight deadlines 
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking, and a team player, confident in dealing with people 
  • Advanced Excel user 
  • Fluent in English and Greek
