HSSE & Navigation Officer

A newly-established Shipping Company operating a fleet of Tanker vessels, is seeking to employ an HSSE & Navigation Officer.

The wider scope of this position is to assist the HSSE department in its daily routine activities, however core duties will include monitoring and proper implementation of navigational procedures as well as handling of all daily security related matters of the fleet (A-CSO).

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring ECDIS performance standards fleet wise
• Maintaining the Navigation/Bridge Equipment lists
• Monitoring vessels' passage plans, ensuring compliance with procedures, rules and regulations 
• Ensuring the effective implementation of the Ship Security Plan according to the ISPS Code requirements
• Ensuring consistency between security and safety requirements
• Assisting in the handling of remaining HSSE matters (i.e. near misses, drills, safety meeting, etc.)

Minimum qualifications:

• Minimum two years of sea service as Junior Deck Officer (preferably on tankers)
• At least two years of experience in similar positions in the field
• Certified for BRM/BTM/ECDIS
• Proficient in the use of ECDIS
• Proficient in English language, oral and written
• Proficient in MS Office suite and use of PC

 The position requires minimum travelling abroad.
